Julie A. Couillard, P.E., Director of Transmission Engineering, CTC Cable Corporation
Ms. Couillard has over 20 years of management experience in engineering, maintenance, construction, and operations organizations in the electric power industry. She also has a strong background in strategic planning, engineering analysis, root cause investigation, project management, personnel management, and fiscal responsibility. Ms. Couillard was one of the leaders of the nation's first independent transmission company, Trans-Elect, Inc. There, she developed and executed their first acquisition’s (Michigan Electric Transmission Company, LLC or METC) start-up activities, business plans, and strategic outlook, and was responsible for managing the company's daily operational, financial, and business functions. Before joining Trans-Elect and METC, Ms. Couillard worked for the City of Anaheim, California, as its transmission and distribution manager ,where she was responsible for standards development, design engineering, equipment specifications, root-cause analysis, and strategic planning activities. Ms. Couillard also held numerous leadership positions in the transmission, distribution, and substation areas at Exelon Corporation in Chicago, including overseeing a $500 million transmission and substation maintenance, engineering, and construction budget. She also managed one of the largest worldwide transmission cable replacement projects, totaling $55 million. Among many responsibilities, she was in charge of an engineering team, product research, equipment specification development, design engineering, and installation activities for the upgrade of four major underground transmission lines within the City of Chicago. Julie is a registered professional engineer and holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Ohio University and an MBA from DePaul University.
